Preparing Stationery for the Underprivileged Kids

Going to school needs special tools. Every student that goes to school needs stationery. For some kids having different kinds of stationery is charming but for some it is like a wish to have some stationery.

In this situation, charity organizations try to provide stationery for the disadvantaged kids so that they can go to school and study. These efforts help the disadvantaged kids to be able to go to school and study.

Stationery is the most charming part of school and buying them is a kind of hobby for some kinds but for some others, it is a wish to have even the simplest kind of stationery.

What Is Stationery?

“Lavazem Tahrir” is an Arabic word that is used in Iran for the stationery. But some others also use the Persian word of “Nevesht Afzar” for Stationery.

Stationery is actually every tool that used for writing, painting or drawing. It is like a hobby to buy stationery. It is no matter if a pen or pencil, a notebook, an eraser or pencil sharpener or even painting, engineering or office tools have their own special customers. These tools will be used by kids and even elders and so all range of ages are using stationery for different kinds of works and reasons.

History of Stationery

It is not necessary to explain more what the stationery is but as for the history of using it, there is an interesting explanation.

Humans being familiar with the use of stationery goes back to a real far history. The first human beings used a piece of coal or some sharp tools to draw in woods and stones. Years later humans used animal skin and coats of sheep or goats for their writings and drawings so that it could be portable.

Egyptians were among the first people who produces papers from Papyrus plants. They used the papyrus branches and produced thin pieces from them and put them together and dried them to produce the first kind of papers.

Other than papers, pencils were the most important kinds used from 1790 by Nikola Counte to write. He used a special kind of very soft coal name Graphite. He put graphite in the middle of two pieces of wood so that it won’t darken his hands. That was how the first pencil produced. 

What Kind of Stationery We Choose?

Since improvement of science, the stationery also improved considerably. The variety, beauty and performance of the stationery is really immense and choosing from them is so difficult.

Meantime choosing the best kind for kids and students still have some criteria. Criteria that the charity organization consider while choosing stationery for the disadvantaged kids.

Proper Quality

The most important thing while choosing stationery is their quality. Some brands of stationery use special designs and caron designs for their products and so sell their products with a higher price but it not necessarily shows their quality.

Two-band Backpacks

Two-band backpacks are the most comfortable kind for school use. Backpack used for kids should be two-bank and not so heavy and also washable. We should teach our kids to use two-band backpacks so that the weight of the books and things inside backpack will be equally spread between their shoulders.

Fabric Pencil Cases

Fabric pencil cases are a better choice because they are washable and also very light weight and does not make the backpack heavy.

Choosing Notebooks

Notebooks are an inseparable item of stationery for kids and they are different kinds of one or two-line notebooks. Every student needs a separate notebook for each curriculum and the thickness and kind of lines and quality of the paper can be different. 

Choosing Pencil

Pencil should be soft so that writing will be easy. Pencils that are not soft makes the kid’s hands exhausted and tired. But it should be of good quality so that the lead won’t break or finish soon.

Choosing Pen

Pens should be soft and fluent and a kind with a head so that the ink won’t makes the pencil case dirty.

The Best Pencil Sharpener and Eraser

Plastic pencil sharpeners are better because they are not heavy and the eraser should not be so hard to rupture the paper or so soft that will be broken in pieces. 

Providing Stationery for the Disadvantaged Kids

Stationary is necessary for the kids but there are families that can’t prepare even the simplest kind of stationery for their kids, and studying is not possible without the necessary tools and stationery. Some kids in disadvantaged cities and villages can’t go to school and study because they don’t have the necessary tools. Charities always try to provide these families with special tools for school and it is simply an obligation to help them.
